Instagram App Privacy Policy

This privacy notice covers the Kittl Instagram Extension and supplements Kittl’s main Privacy Policy at kit.temphost.top/privacy. Both apply in full; this notice describes only what is specific to the Instagram integration.

The Instagram Extension uses the Instagram API to let you browse the posts on your Instagram professional (business or creator) account and import their images into Kittl, and to publish a finished design from Kittl to that account. It requests the “instagram_business_basic” and “instagram_business_content_publish” permissions: the first lets Kittl read your profile and your posts, the second lets Kittl publish posts on your behalf. Kittl is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Meta Platforms, Inc. Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.

When you connect Instagram, Kittl stores only the OAuth credentials (a long-lived access token, which Kittl renews through Instagram’s API) needed to call the Instagram API on your behalf. Images you browse may be cached by our content delivery network for up to 24 hours so they load quickly in the editor; we do not otherwise store your posts, captions, profile details or other Instagram content on Kittl servers, and they are fetched from the Instagram API on demand when needed to provide the integration. Anything you choose to import into a Kittl design is governed by the imported-content terms in our main Privacy Policy.

When you publish a design from Kittl to Instagram, the exported image or video, together with the caption you enter, is sent to Instagram via its API. Because Instagram fetches media from a public address rather than accepting an upload, the exported image is first stored in your Kittl workspace and a video is placed in Kittl’s own temporary storage for up to 6 hours, after which it is removed. Once published, that content is governed by Instagram’s terms; you can edit or remove the resulting post in your Instagram account.

Kittl receives operational data back from Instagram in connection with publishing, for example the media container id, the published post id, its processing status and any error messages, which we use to operate the integration.

Kittl does not access or process the personal data of people who follow you or interact with your posts, including their names, comments or messages. That data stays between you and Instagram under Meta’s privacy practices.

When you disconnect the integration in Kittl Settings, uninstall the extension in Kittl, or remove Kittl in your Instagram settings under “Apps and websites”, Kittl deletes the credentials from its production systems (subject to the limited log and backup retention noted in the main Privacy Policy). Kittl does not resell or redistribute Instagram content or Instagram-derived data to any third party. Instagram content remains subject to Meta’s Terms of Service.
